Description

German Air Service (Luftstreitkrafte) officer's field grey herringbone-patterned cotton drill four pocket 'Bluse' style jacket. The jacket has a stand and fall collar. The fall of the collar is made from a dark grey cotton fabric that is finer than the fabric used for the rest of the jacket. The six light brown plastic buttons on the front opening are concealed. The pair of patch pockets on the breast are pleated and the bottom edge of their flap is scalloped. A pocket has also been let into both hips. This pair of pockets have a simple buttoned flap that slopes downward from the front to the back. All of the pocket buttons are metal and bear the Prussian crown. The grey shoulder cords have a single interwoven white thread and white edging. They are rounded on the innermost end, where they are held down with Prussian buttons, and they have a winged-propellor gilt metal badge fitted to them. The sleeve cuffs are the simple turned-back barrel pattern. There is a 300mm vent in the middle of the skirt of the jacket, which has the two usual button style belt supporters above it. The jacket is not lined and has no compliance or manufacturer's marks.
