Description

Circular bronze medallion with a raised round ball surrounded by a laurel wreath on the obverse. Engraved reverse '15th BATTERY 5th F A B RUGBY PREMIERS PERONNE 1918 Sgt FOX E.C.' Fitted with a loose ring at the top.

History / Summary

7579 Warrant Officer 2 Eric Charles Fox enlisted on 11 August 1915 and served with 5 Field Artillery Brigade, AIF. He saw action on the Western Front, and was wounded at Ypres. He was awarded the Military Medal. He returned to Australia on 20 May 1919. During the Second World War he served as NX14373 Warrant Officer 1 with 2/5 Field Regiment and saw service in Syria and later in New Guinea. He was a member of the Manly Life Saving Club and the only member to have his name recorded on the clubs' Roll of Honour for WWI & WWII. He died in 1964.
