Description

Yellow polyester cotton T-shirt screen printed on the back with a large blue circle bearing an image of the green island of Bougainville with a white dove carrying an olive branch superimposed over it. Around the edge, in black, is 'PEACE TRUCE MONITORING GROUP'. The same device is printed in a smaller form on the left breast. A printed cotton tag inside the back neck has care instructions and 'MADE IN AUSTRALIA'.

History / Summary

T-shirt obtained by Lieutenant Duncan John Perryman, RAN, while serving as Chief Petty Officer Signals in the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) vessel HMAS Success, in support of the Truce Monitoring Group on Bougainville. HMAS Success patrolled offshore remaining on stand by to evacuate the Truce Monitoring Group at short notice if required.
