Diamond shaped colour patch, divided black over green, on a grey ground. Worn by members of 2/17th Battalion from c. November 1940 until December 1942.
History / Summary
George Francis 'Frank' Clark, born 1892, served with 20th Battalion, AIF, in the First World War and was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and Military Medal. He served again in the Second World War, as Bren gunner with 2/17th Battalion. He was killed in action at Tobruk on 7 June 1941. This patch was sent back to Australia to his widow, Genevieve, with his effects.
