Description
Battle damaged rifle telescope.
History / Summary
This telecope was won by the donor, Pte. Maher of the 44th Battalion, when he was a member of the Coolgardie Rifle Club, prior to joining the Army. He was using the telescope in the 11th Brigade's observation point near Armentieres when the Germans commenced shelling the post. A few seconds after Maher had taken shelter the post received 3 direct hits which destroyed it and all it contained.
