18 pdr artillery cartridge case that has been extensively damaged by German counter battery fire. The cartridge case is made from brass and is barely recognisable due to battlefield damage. Markings - 18 PDR, NLY, 1917; 19 7 17; S 18 PDR II; NO II; CF.
