1.75 inch Toffee Apple Bomb
Description
British Army 1.75 inch toffee apple bomb. The bomb is made from cast iron and a circular head attached to a long shaft. The the head has provisions for two contact fuzes. The metal is extensively covered with moderate corrosion and there is no paint visible. Markings - H & L.
History / Summary
The 1.75 inch toffee apple bomb (also called the plumb pudding bomb) was used by the British from 1915 onwards on the Western Front and in Palestine.
