10 cm Kanone 14 (Germany)
10 cm field gun, on a two wheeled box trail, with splinter proof shield. The trail is of rivetted steel plate. It was, however, generally fired from its cradle in the usual manner, the recoil thrust being taken up by the spade at the rear of the trail and an axial recoil system. The length of this recoil is limited by an oil buffer cylinder. The gun has been painted post-war in a dark vegitation green monochrome semi glass enamel.
The gun was introduced to the German Army fairly early in the First World War. This gun was horse drawn, with a horizontally sliding wedge breech mechanism, semi-automatic, and the carriage is fitted with pinion rods to allow the gun to be fired from a platform. In this manner it was thought to be capable of anti-aircraft gunfire.
