To my dear mother from your loving son
Description
Embroidered silk postcard made in France during the First World War. This postcard has an envelope style featuring a central purple and yellow pansy surrounded by small pink and green flowers set into an intricate gold pattern of swirls. Small purple and yellow pansies appear in the corners of the top half of the design. A small card insert features the message "Not absent in thoughts", and is illustrated with a picture of a girl standing beside a basket of flowers holding a rose and a heart.
