England. 1943-02-05. 402745 Flight Sergeant Rawdon Hume Middleton, the RAAF's first VC winner in this war, was buried with full military honours in a country churchyard near his station. Air Vice Marshal H. N. Wrigley represented the High Commissioner for Australia (Mr S. M. Bruce) and the RAAF.
