London, England. 1943-12-24. A description of the Christmas Eve 1943 celebrations at the Boomerang Club (which included a concert, a dinner and a dance) was broadcast in the BBC Overseas Service programme "Radio Newsreel" on Christmas morning. Mr Stanley Melbourne Bruce CH MC, High Commissioner for Australia, cuts the three tier iced cake. Included in the group round him are Pilot Officer David Sandell of Sydney, NSW; Sergeant John Ellis of Sydney, NSW; Flight Sergeant (F Sgt) Donald McKenzie of Maroubra, NSW; F Sgt Bruce Humphreys of Kew, Vic; and F Sgt D.
