Portrait taken at RAAF Overseas Headquarters of 411411 Flying Officer (FO, later Flight Lieutenant [Flt Lt]) Richard Sutton Williams DFC, (Patonga Beach NSW), of No. 456 (Mosquito) Squadron RAAF. Flt Lt Williams was lost on operations on 22 August 1944, while acting as Navigator on a Mosquito bomber of No. 464 Squadron RAAF, attacking marshalling yards and ammunition stores near Dijon, France.
