Description

Group portrait of 406731 Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Horace William Radford DFC (later with bar) from Mt Lawley, Western Australia, with his crew at No. 463 (Lancaster) Squadron RAAF. This crew completed a second tour of operations on heavy bomber aircraft. Their individual sorties total over 320. They crewed up for the second tour while instructing at the same Overseas Training Unit. Sqn Ldr Radford, who has done fifty seven operations, did his first tour in the North African campaign, operating from Algeria and Tunisia.
