South Vietnam. 1969-12. Sapper (Spr) Ron Ashworth of Perth, WA (left), and Spr Max Slater of Geelong, Vic, take time off from their road widening work to talk with some Vietnamese children on top of their bulldozer. Both soldiers are members of 1st Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers, engaged in the widening of Route 2, a highway running north from Nui Dat.
