Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1970-01. Three liaison officers from the 1st Australian Civil Affairs Unit outside the unit orderly room at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF). Left to right: Lieutenant John Sullivan of Nambour, Qld; Captain Doug MacLennan of Camberwell, Vic; Lieutenant Barry Smith of Albury, NSW. The three Vietnamese speaking officers are the eyes and ears of their unit. They travel around Phuoc Tuy meeting the people and co-ordinating civil aid programmes.
