South Vietnam. May 1970. Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV) adviser Warrant Officer Class 2 Bert Franks of Stafford Heights, Qld, with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment, 2nd Vietnamese Division in northern Quang Tin Province, examines weapons captured by his unit on operations. He is holding an AK47 assault rifle like those lined up against the wall and next to him is a small artillery piece, a 75mm recoilless rifle. The weapons were brought back to regimental headquarters at Hawk Hill (officially Hill 29).
