Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. June 1970. Captain (Capt) Dudley Lever of Macquarie, ACT, talks to a Viet Cong (VC) prisoner of war (POW) on left, through a Vietnamese Army interpreter at the III Corps Tactical Zone POW cage. The POW, who was doing carpentry work, told Capt Lever that he had been a carpenter when he joined the VC. Capt Lever makes a monthly check of camps holding POWs captured by Australians. On this occasion, Capt Lever accompanied the Chief of Staff of the Headquarters Australian Force Vietnam, Colonel J. Whitelaw.
