Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam. July 1970. Waist-high in thick grass, a signaller keeps a wary eye on the jungle fringe during a combined infantry-tank operation against Viet Cong bunker systems in Operation Petrie. He is Private Wayne Binns of Pyewgane, Tas, serving with 8th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (8RAR), with a field radio on his back, the earpiece hanging over his shoulder.
