Slow Art day
Did you know that on average, visitors look at each work of art for 17 seconds or less? Slow Art Day is an annual, world-wide event that encourages participants to deepen their appreciation of art by looking at a small number of works but for a longer period of time.
Participants at the Australian War Memorial will be given a selection of five works to consider, looking at each for at least 10 minutes, over the course of two hours. They are then invited to meet for lunch at the Terrace café for a facilitated discussion with curator Anthea Gunn.
Participation is free but lunch will need to be purchased.
