Shared Experience: H.M.A.S. Perth fights to the last, 28th February, 1942
Griffin was captured during the fall of Singapore in February 1942 and spent the remainder of the war in Changi prisoner-of-war camp. This picture was painted as a result of a conversation in Changi with survivors from the Perth, sunk in the Sunda Strait, off Java, two weeks after Singapore fell.
