Escape Map
Escape maps were first produced by British intelligence organisation MI9 during the Second World War. Designed to help Allied prisoners of war escape and evade capture in enemy-occupied territory, the maps were made from silk and other types of cloth and so they could be easily concealed, and survive wear and tear.
