Looking for talent and content for First World War Centenary interviews?

2 mins read

Monday 4 August 2014 marks the Centenary of the start of the First World War. The Australia War Memorial will be commemorating this day with a significant Last Post Ceremony. We’ll also commemorate the four year Centenary period with a range of commemorative events and ceremonies.

To assist media with their First World War Centenary requests, the Memorial’s media team has reconstructed the online media centre. It will make it easier for the media to access newsworthy content direct from the Australia War Memorial, particularly for significant anniversaries.

The site provides access to media releases, media kits containing information on upcoming anniversaries and events, details on how to request images and footage, and information for news channels and documentary crews on filming and photography at the Memorial.

If you require images and footage, media are now able to take images and footage that are in the public domain from the Memorial’s website or the Memorial’s Flickr page. These images are low resolution, watermarked and available to download and use free of charge.

Up to six high resolution images and up to 30 seconds of footage can be provided free of charge. Beyond that, charges apply. Please note, copyright restrictions may also apply.

All image and footage requests must be received by Thursday 31 July 2014. If you miss the cut-off date for material, you can access our media portal to download pre-selected images.
