SX7964 Sergeant (later Lieutenant (Lt)) Thomas Currie Derrick, VC. DCM, 2/48th Infantry Battalion. Lt Derrick died of wounds received when attacking the Freda feature during the invasion of Tarakan Island by 26th Infantry Brigade on 24 May 1945.
