Starboard quarter view of the auxiliary anti submarine vessel, HMAS Abraham Crijnssen in Sydney ...
Description
Starboard quarter view of the auxiliary anti submarine vessel, HMAS Abraham Crijnssen in Sydney harbour. Formerly a Dutch minesweeper, she escaped to Australia after the fall of the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Alterations in Australia saw the removal of the aft minesweeping gear which was replaced by depth charge rails for use in the anti submarine role. The original aft mounted three inch gun was retained and a 20 mm Oerlikon anti aircraft gun was relocated to provide a clearer field of fire.
