Feathered soldiers

Vashti Farrer and Mary Small

Feathered soldiers is a fact-filled, illustrated tribute to Australia's messenger pigeons in the Second World War. Pigeons were often the crucial communications link for Australian soldiers fighting in rugged territory. Without these feathered heroes and the men who trained them, many Australian servicemen would not have returned home to their families and friends.
