UN Forces Medallion
The first United Nations peacekeeping mission commenced in Indonesia on 14 September 1947. Australians were proudly part of that first group of UN observers. Since then Australian Defence Force personnel have served in more than 64 countries on 73 multinational UN peace operations. This medallion was produced by the ANZAC Day Commemoration Committee of Queensland to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australians who have deployed as part of missions under United Nations’ (UN) auspices.
The medallion measures 4cm in diameter and is presented on an illustrated card.
