In 2008 the Memorial’s Lone Pine tree was damaged in a severe storm and lost several branches. One was salvaged, and from this timber the Memorial has gradually released a limited number of commemorative items. Held in reserve until now, this final range has been handcrafted using a combination of Lone Pine timber and Western Australian jarrah. Released in this centenary year of the battle of Lone Pine (6–9 August 1915), this range is strictly limited and exclusive to the Memorial.
‘Gallipoli Lone Pine 100 years’ magnet - handcrafted to the shape of the Australian War Memorial building from a combination of the two timbers. On the reverse is a small but powerful magnet. Due to the nature of the wood, colours may vary. Dimensions: 3.5 x 7 cm.
