MV Krait: Historical nail, with operational map

Handcrafted by Tharwa Valley Forge SHOP:101023639

In 2017 the MV Krait, a wartime vessel best known for its pivotal role in Operation Jaywick, underwent extensive restoration. The original material that could not be salvaged has been sensitively repurposed into a range of commemorative products.

These historic nails, removed from the original hull and decking of the MV Krait, have been carefully cleaned and preserved by Tharwa Valley Forge. Nails have been coated in a clear solution (Cerakote) to protect the surface and prevent further rust.

Each nail is unique and is presented atop a wooden stand (also fashioned from original timber), with magnetic brass attachment points.

A brass operational map showing the vessel's legendary journey is included, which attaches to the back of the stand with magnets.

Produced to a limited edition of 55, each historic nail comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Dimensions: Nail – 10 - 13cm (will vary)   /  Stand with map – 15cm x 10cm x 4.5cm

Please note:

  • As nails are original, variations in size and shape will occur.
  • Timber finish will vary owing to the use of original materials.
