Joint winner of the 2022 'Distinctive Work' prize - Council for Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) - commended "for its significant contribution to supporting children and their families and your innovative, creative methods used in doing so".

'T' is for training is told through the eyes of a young girl named Rosie, whose Mum is away on deployment. The book focuses upon the impact upon children when a parent is deployed, using the acronym TRAINING to explore the theme.

Created as part of the Early Childhood Defence Programs project, this book is part of a series of research-based storybooks, all designed to increase and support a child's understanding about the work of their parents and how it affect their lives. Topics focus on deployment, health impacts and family life in general.

Thanks to the generous funding of the Ian Potter Foundation, the University of New England and the Associate of Graduates of Early Childhood Studies, a free version of this publication (along with interactive educational activities) is available at https://ecdefenceprograms.com/index.php/t-is-for-training/

Suitable for: Early childhood (0-6 years).

Details: Children's book/Education resource (picture book), published 2022.

Format: Soft cover, illustrations, 54 pages.
