The Perth Mint

The first of five coins in the Historic Australian Posters of World War I Collector Series. 

Used to encourage enlistment early in the First World War, the first coin features a coloured representation of the 1914 ‘A Call from the Dardanelles’ poster from the Australian War Memorial Collection.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of these 1oz, 99.9% pure silver proof quality $1 coins. Each coin measure 4.76 x 2.76 cm with a thickness of .4 cm, and weighs 31.135 g

The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight and fineness also appear in the design, along with the heading AUSTRALIAN ENLISTMENT.

Designed by Wade Robinson, the coin is housed in a unique, contemporary, latex case which displays both sides of the coin. The case is packaged within a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
