The Battle of Long Tan

As Told By The Commanders to Bob Grandin

The Battle of Long Tan is an account of a battle that has become synonymous with the Australian Army and the Vietnam War - it is particularly important because it has been wirtten by the commanders who were closely involved in the fighting. This is the first time that those in direct command of Delta Company have shared their memories of the most significant battle fought by Australians in Vietnam. They graphically show the face of battle, in all its uncertainty, bravery, fear, demands and danger. It is a valuable insight into what it is like to serve in an infantry company in combat.
