Aitape-Wewak 1944 - 1945
The Australians who served in the Aitape-Wewak campaign were professional and determined, and their endeavours added to our proud military tradition. This books tells the story of how the Allied forces successfully cut off the Japanese base at Wewak so that its garrison was incapable of presenting a further serious threat. They also liberated territory for which Australia was responsible and which later decame part of the nation of Papua New Guinea.
