Spitfire Supermarine Mk I - P9374

1:72 scale diecast replica

P9374 was the 557th Spitfire built. Delivered to 92 Squadron RAF on 6 March 1940, the aircraft was quickly moved south of London to help cover the Allied evacuation of Dunkirk. It was on one such mission that P9374 was shot down by a German Bf110. Pilot Peter Cazenove made a wheels-up landing on a Calais beach and was quickly captured. The wreck lay buried on the beach until a storm exposed it in September 1980. Amazingly, P9374 was recovered and restored, and on 1 September 2011 the aircraft flew again. Sadly Peter Cazenove, also a veteran of the "Great Escape", passed away just days before he could be told of his beloved Spitfire's return to the air.

Limited edition 1:72 scale diecast replica. Wingspan 15.5 cm. Includes optional undercarriage, rotating propeller. This replica is a collector's item and is not designed as a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years.
