The inspiring story of three South Australian brothers caught up in the ravages of the Second World War. Brought up in the harshest conditions on a farm on the edge of the Nullarbor Plain the boys volunteered for military service.

The eldest, Hugh, became an officer in the Australian Army and served on AA units in northern Australia. Ralph joined the RAAF and served as a bomb aimer with 49 Squadron RAF at Fulbeck in the UK and was was killed while on a raid in March 1945. Bruce, the youngest, became a pilot and flew with 460 Squadron RAAF at Binbrook and East Kirkby. He took a camera with him and contributed many fantasic photographs to this book. The author, John Ward is a respected English Bomber Command historian and president of 49 Squadron Association.
