Lancaster bomber - 'G for George'

1:150 scale diecast metal replica

The most popular aircraft on display at the Australian War Memorial is the fully restored Avro Lancaster MK 1, affectionately known as 'G for George'. This bomber was flown by No. 460 Squadron RAAF during eighty nine successful operational missions over Europe during the height of the bombing offensive of 1942-44. 'George', marked AR-G, was regarded as a lucky aircraft, bringing home alive every crewman who flew in it. Upon its retirement from combat duty, 'George' was flown to Australia where is played a major part in raising War Bonds during a round-Australia publicity trip. Masterfully replicated, this highly detailed 1:150 diecast model of 'George' has been produced by Model Power with Memorial consultation to ensure accuracy. Fully painted and assembled.

Note: this replica is not intended as a toy. Suitable for ages 14 and over.
