Vietnam Task - The 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment

Robert J, O'Neill

Landing at Nui Dat on 24 May 1966, was the beginning of twelve months in the monsoonal jungles of Phuoc Tuy Province for the eight hundred men of the Fifth Battalion. Their aim was to clear and secure the province, and to undermine Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army operations in the area. Holding the position of Battalion Intelligence Officer, Major O'Neill wrote much of this book on the spot in Vietnam, and mailed the pages of his notebook home to his wife every few days. Hard cover, illustrated, 263 pages.
