Victoria Cross mini pin badge

The Victoria Cross (VC) was instituted in January 1856 during the reign of Queen Victoria. It is the highest recognition for valour “in the face of the enemy” that can be awarded to members of the British and Commonwealth armed forces, of any rank in any service, and civilians under military command. The bronze to make the original medals comes from cannons captured during the Crimean War. This miniature Victoria Cross replica pin is made from bronze plated lead-free pewter and measures 1.7 x 1.7 cm.  The pin is presented on a colourful backing card, as illustrated.
