MV Krait logo

A selection of original timber and nails, set aside during the restoration of the MV Krait, has been carefully crafted into a range of commemorative products – to mark the 75th anniversary of the vessel’s involvement in wartime mission Operation Jaywick.

Locally crafted by the Tharwa Valley Forge and Skyon, each piece is unique and steeped in history.

MV Krait: Ship’s model base

Commissioned by the Australian War Memorial, and made by Canberra craftsman Kevin Miller of Skyon, this Model Base is created from original timbers taken from the restoration of the MV Krait. The Model Base has been specifically designed to accommodate a 1:35 scale model of the MV Krait (not included). The Model Base includes an operational map of Jaywick, specifications of the vessel, and a custom etching of the MV Krait. Produced in a limited edition of 10, a certificate of authenticity is also included.

MV Krait: Shot glass set

Locally made by Canberra craftsman Kevin Miller of Skyon, this unique shot glass set has been created from the hull and decking timbers of the MV Krait. Nestled within the original bolt holes of the timber, are two standard-sized (30mL) shot glasses - one for you and one for a friend. The shot glass paddle features a felted base and custom etching of the MV Krait. Produced in a limited edition of 60, each set comes with a certificate of authenticity.

MV Krait: Australian Army Stiletto (AAS) knife, miniature replica with timber stand

Handcrafted by Tharwa Valley Forge, this replica Australian Army Stiletto (AAS) knife is modelled very closely on a weapon carried by Australian Special Operations units during the Second World War. The blade has been forged from original nails taken from the MV Krait, while the handle has been turned from the vessel’s decking and hull timbers. The miniature replica knife is presented on a wooden stand (also fashioned from original timber). Produced in a limited edition of 332, each replica comes with a certificate of authenticity.
