In March 1918 the Senator Pearce, the Minister for Defence sent out a circular calling for portrait photographs of fallen soldiers or those who had been decorated to be submitted for a future Australian War Museum. Many people sent in photographs and it became one of the first collection programs for the Memorial. Come and learn more about it from photographs curator Joanne Smedley.
