Schools not undertaking formal education programs still need to book their visit. Groups enter through the schools' entrance and are given a brief orientation to the Memorial. They are then free to follow particular areas of interest but must stay with their teachers at all times.
Sound and light shows
These run regularly in Anzac Hall:
- Striking By Night - Lancaster "G for George" (re-creates a night-time bombing raid over Berlin). Hourly from 10 am.
- Over the Front: the Great war in the Air (an outstanding re-creation of a First World War aerial dogfight). At quarter past the hour from 10.15 am.
- Sydney Under Attack (the Japanese midget submarine attack on Sydney Harbour in 1942). At half past the hour alternating with Our first naval victory, commencing from 10.30 am.
- Our First Naval Victory (the destruction of the German raider Emden by HMAS Sydney in 1914). At half past the hour, alternating with Sydney under attack, commencing from 11.30 am.
Bomber Command, in the Second World War gallery, simulates a bombing raid over Germany.
Bookings available 10 am to 4 pm daily. The Memorial is closed Christmas Day.
