Pearl Ridge, Bougainville. 1945-03-09. SX24842 Gunner R. Warner (on left) loading the cardboard container which carries propaganda leaflets into a 25 pounder shell container. With him are VX70436 Gunner H. G. Brown (middle) and VX72799 Gunner T. C. Felley. All are members of 4th Australian Field Regiment. It was part of an operation by members of the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) to broadcast surrender messages to the Japanese on Smith's Hill.
