Description

Barmera, South Australia. 1945-12. The Japanese Charnel House in 14C Compound of No 14 Camp of the Loveday Internment Camp Group. The Japanese internees placed inside pieces of hair and fingernails from fellow countrymen who died in the compound. The box on a pole had hessian sides and a lighted candle was sometimes displayed inside.
