Description
Collection relating to service of Captain Francis Coen, 18 and 19 Battalion, Gallipoli, Egypt and France, 1915-1916. Collection includes typewritten copies of letters sent home to his mother in Yass, NSW. Copies made by the Memorial 1927. Location of originals unknown.

Biographical note: Captain, 18th & 19th Bns, AIF. Barrister-at law. of Yass, NSW, born Yass, educated at St Ignatius College, Riverview, NSW and Sydney University. Practising as a barrister in Yass, NSW. Served Commonwealth Citizen Forces. Killed in action Pozieres, 28 July 1916, aged 32 years.
