Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Frederick George Smith, 2 Battalion, AIF. Collection consists of typed extracts from his diary, dated 19 October 1914 to 19 April 1915. The entries describe embarkation, and the voyage to and training in Egypt prior to landing at Gallipoli. Smith died on 8 May 1915 from wounds received in action on Gallipoli. The original handwritten diary is available at 3DRL/7120.
