Smith, Roy Alfred Walter (Lieutenant, b.? - d.1917)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 1304 Lieutenant Roy Alfred Walter Smith, 19 Battalion, France and Belgium. Collection consists of five original diaries belonging to Lt Roy Alfred Walter Smith, four handwritten letters from Smith to his mother, one letter from a commanding officer to Smith, his commissioning warrant, commemmorative scroll, letter from the King, and an official letter written from the Records Office after his death. Smith was wounded in action in Belgium and died on 15 October 1917.
