Field, Claude J M (Lance Corporal, b.1893 - d.1917)
Collection relating to the First World War service of Lance Corporal Claude JM Field, 37th Australian Infantry Battalion, Australia and France, 1914-1919. Collection consists of one diary handwritten by Field and a typed transcription of the diary, one photograph of Field and another young man (Field standing), one extract from 'The Graphic of Australia' that describes how Field's sister sent Australian forget-me-not seeds to the front lines after his death, and one book 'Things That Matter Most' with included clippings and telegrams from years both during and after the war.
This collection was donated in conjunction with 3DRL/3904. During the donation process items from both collections were misidentified and catalogued incorrectly. Items removed from this collection have now been added to 3DRL/3904 should they be required for viewing, and vice versa.
