Description
A group of unidentified bakers at the 1st Australian Field Bakery on a Greek island near the Turkish coast. Four men kneeling in front are displaying newly baked batches of six loaves of bread. Note the Glengarry cap worn by the baker kneeling on the right, and also his belt, which he has decorated with various badges. Along with the islands of Lemnos and Tenedos, Imbros was lent to the Allies by the Greek government as a base for operations on the Gallipoli Peninsula.
