Description
Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Stephen Lade, 4th Reinforcements, 13th Light Horse Regiment, of Broadford, Vic, aged 33. 2nd Lt Lade enlisted on 16 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1915. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 23 July 1916 and died of wounds on 25 September 1917 in Belgium.
