A birds eye view of the Dili Stadium where 18 members of a platoon from Charlie Company, 5/7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, (5/7 RAR) led by Captain (Capt) Gregory Michael Knowles, provided the security for the distribution of food under the Dili Humanitarian Relief Program. Food was distributed to a total of 1,700 people in a four hour period under conditions of 45 degree heat. The platoon organised people into a line and then let them through a single door into the area where they were sorted into four cattle runs with ten people in each. No more people were allowed into the area until those people had each received their cup of rice and left the area. This group of 21 photographs relate to the service of Capt Knowles, who completed two tours of duty, 1999 to early 2000 with Charlie Company, 5/7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, (5/7 RAR) and in 2002 with 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR).
