Finley, Jack Kendall (Warrant Officer Class 2)
Description
Collection relating to NX40864 Warrant Officer Class 2 Jack Finely, 2/18 Infantry Battalion, Second World War. Collection comprises service documents, including two of Finlay's paybooks; three photographs including one of Finlay in uniform and Australian soldiers and Japanese guards at a Christmas concert party in a prisoner of war camp. The collection also includes a notebook in which Finaly recorded Australian prisoner of war casualties and personal statistics (including his weight and details of his illness) at Naoetsu Camp in Japan, 1942-1944. The notebook appeared to have been acquired by Finely in Singapore as it was used as a Raffles Hotel junior library receipt book.
